Unknown forces continue to
hush the voice that could clear Michael Jackson of the 1993 child
molestation allegations made against him.
RADFORD, VA (PRWEB) April 9, 2004--Unknown forces continue to hush
the voice that could clear Michael Jackson of the 1993 child
molestation allegations made against him.
Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation
Allegations divulges facts about the case not previously made
available to the public.
Written by the sole legal secretary of the plaintiff’s attorney,
Redemption reveals the fraudulent relationship and possible
extortion scheme between complainant Dr. Evan Chandler and his
attorney Barry Rothman.
However, Geraldine Hughes’ accounts do not break attorney-client
privilege. Under California Evidence Code 956, “there is no
privilege under this article if the services of the lawyer were
sought or obtained to enable or aid anyone to commit or plan to
commit a crime or a fraud.”
Since Redemption’s publication in January of this year, book
sellers’ orders have been cancelled, bookstore chains proclaimed the
book unavailable, and some online retailers made it difficult to
find.
Branch & Vine Publishers’ chief executive officer, James Armentrout,
describes the situation as going from “confusion to frustration to
determination.”
“After gathering all the information, a clear picture has developed
that there is a movement to suppress the book by an individual or
individuals,” Armentrout said. “We are not the only ones to see
this. Lots of fans have noticed and wrote about it on the Web.
“We and others are looking into the matter to see what action needs
to be taken. Not only are we determined to see that our product is
treated fairly, but to get this information out so that it can aid
in clearing Mr. Jackson’s name.”
Despite being successfully sued for slander by Jackson in 1995,
journalist Victor Gutierrez went on to write Michael Jackson Was My
Lover, a supposed “secret diary” of Chandler’s then 13-year-old
child. The book was, and still is, widely available in some
independently-owned stores and online. So why does Redemption
continue to run into so many walls?
“It’s not that the book isn't selling,” Armentrout said. “We are
getting orders from all over the world. Also, we are getting orders
from several bookstores in the U.S. for customers that request the
book be ordered. The problem is that the large retailers are not
stocking it. Some even report that the book is out of print.”
Jackson fans now demand answers.
On a Jackson fan Web site, www.mjnewsonline.com, fans discuss the
boycotting rumors. Anonymous responses include anywhere from “the
bookstores don’t want to hear the truth” to “we need this book to be
heard” to “let’s show the world they can’t do this.” Some fans even
mention financially sponsoring a U.S. book tour.
“I think it’s a disgrace and a conspiracy what’s happening with
Geraldine’s book,” said Lesline McKenzie, a Jackson fan from Milan,
Italy.
Redemption can still be ordered directly from Branch & Vine.
However, Armentrout aims to get the book stocked in stores in the
near future.
Capitol Records/EMI To Reissue Two Duran Duran DVDs To Commemorate
20th Anniversary of Their Legendary 1984 Arena Tour Arena (An Absurd
Notion & The Making Of Arena) DVD and Sing Blue Silver DVD Along
With CD Reissue of Arena
All Releases In Stores on May 4, 2004
“Greatest” 2-DVD Video Collection Now Certified Platinum
Hollywood, CA, March 10, 2004 – Capitol Records/EMI will reissue the
concert film Arena (An Absurd Notion & The Making Of Arena) DVD, the
Sing Blue Silver DVD tour documentary, and the Arena live concert CD
on May 4, 2004. These releases offer special insight into the lives
of Duran Duran and the hysteria that engulfed them. Nearly every
moment of Duran Duran’s 1984 “Arena” world tour (51 shows in 43
cities over 79 days for over half million fans in the United States
and Canada) was captured by a documentary film crew. Both DVDs have
been remastered and capture mesmerizing live performances from one
of the most important and innovative tours of the decade. The Arena
CD is remastered with two bonus tracks.
Arena (An Absurd Notion & The Making Of Arena) DVD
Arena is the legendary Duran Duran concert filmed in Oakland, CA by
director Russell Mulcahy. Part live concert and part sci-fi
adventure, Arena finds the band in battle with the original Duran
Duran (actor Milo O’Shea) from the cult film “Barbarella”. Elements
of Max Headroom and Mad Max (as seen in the video for “Wild Boys”)
are combined with one of the most exhilarating live concerts of that
decade. The remastered DVD shows the concert in extraordinary sight
and sound.
Included is a host of unreleased extras is the “Making of Arena", a
documentary that reveals the creative processes involved, how each
band member contributed ideas and how 1 million pounds were spent on
extraordinary sets, stunning costumes, original dance sequences and
visual effects. It also helps to explain director Russell Mulcahy’s
motto “If I can imagine it, then I can film it”. Extras include the
film trailer, TV commercial, video megamix, the video for “Save A
Prayer” live and an interview with Simon LeBon.
The Arena DVD will be packaged in a clamshell box containing an
8-page poster booklet, and a sheet of stickers of the band members
and characters from Arena.
Sing Blue Silver DVD
The entire North American leg of the Arena tour was filmed for this
documentary. Sing Blue Silver, while not as well known as Arena, is
a brilliant look into the life of the world’s biggest pop band at
that moment. It provides true behind the scenes footage offering a
fascinating portal into the fun, glamour, agony, ecstasy and
ultimate glory of 3 months on the road. Witness Simon, Nick, John
Roger and Andy thriving on the pressures, psyching themselves up
pre-stage and then delivering incredible shows night after night to
thunderous responses. Inner workings of backstage are revealed
through the production manager, tour manager and road crew who are
frequently fraught with last minute panics and touring nerves.
Hoards of hysterical Duran fans are seen stampeding into arenas and
chasing down the band’s limo.
Sing Blue Silver provides the best pure live footage from various
shows on the Arena tour. Mixed in 5.1 surround sound, Sing Blue
Silver sounds remarkable. Sing Blue Silver captures the excitement
and hysteria that was, and still is, the live Duran Duran
experience.
Arena CD with bonus tracks
The Arena CD is the live Oakland, CA concert on CD. It includes all
the mega-hits like “Hungry Like The Wolf”, “Save A Prayer” and for
the first time, “Girls On Film” and “Rio” have been added to the
reissue.
For a band that utilized the video format as vibrantly as the their
music, these releases give the Duran Duran fan vehicle to
re-experience the magic of a phenomenon. These releases follow in
the success of the recently released Duran Duran Greatest 2-disc DVD
that compiles most of their legendary music videos. “Greatest” has
just been certified platinum by the RIAA.
Duran Duran has recently reunited with the original line-up from the
Arena tour. The five original members of Duran Duran Simon LeBon
(vocals), Andy Taylor (guitars), Roger Taylor (drums), John Taylor
(bass) and Nick Rhodes (keyboards) are currently playing stadiums
and arenas in their home country, England through April and May.
They are recording a new album and have one new song “Sunrise”
featured on the recently released Capitol Records soundtrack to the
hit TV show “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy”.

Everyone has until March 12, 2004 to meet the DEADLINE.
LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) March 4, 2004 -- Grammy winners Randy Travis
and Ricky Skaggs along with Darryl Worley, Blake Shelton and other
giants of country music are preparing to unveil compelling new songs
about the enduring legacy of the Civil War on America Will Always
Stand -- the first album of original material ever issued by
Time-Life Music.
Scheduled for a retail release in May, America Will Always Stand was
conceived and brought to life by Michael Curtis and Michael Pyle,
who produced and co-wrote most of the tracks with historical
guidance from award-winning filmmaker, writer and director Ron
Maxwell (Gods & Generals, Gettysburg.) Curtis also shares the credit
with Maxwell, and others, as executive producer.
Many of these songs are based on facts, from the grit of battle
(Worley's "Shiloh [Presence of the Past") to the miracle of "God's
tears" shed over the bloody fields of Fredericksburg (Josh Turner's
"Tears of God"). Others draw from scenarios familiar to families
that face today's challenges: Olivia Maxwell's "All the Daddies"
echoes the assurances given by mothers to children throughout
history that their father will someday come back to them.
"One Letter" by the Wilsons makes the connection between past and
present especially clear, telling the story of a soldier gone to
war, leaving only his pledge to return -- so clear, in fact, that it
has been selected not only as the first single from America Will
Always Stand, but also the first single ever released from any
Time-Life Music album.
All of America Will Always Stand embraces the sound of country
music, with an emphasis on acoustic textures, intimate vocals, and
melodies that stir strong currents of emotion. Whether referring to
specific figures from the Civil War, as in Daron Norwood's "God and
General Lee," or to the loneliness borne by every soldier far from
home, as in Shelton's "Waltzing You Darlin'" and Marty Raybon's
"Back in Your Arms Again," each song speaks with a direct yet poetic
eloquence, closer in essence to letters written by both Union and
Confederate troops to their loved ones than to the formulaic lyrics
of pop music.
But each track also touches something deep in our national character
and seeks what brings us together -- North and South, soldiers for
peace and apostles for victory. "Even though these songs are about
the Civil War, they're just as timely today as they would have been
140 years ago," says Curtis. "We hope not only to draw future
generations to the beauty of mainstream country music, but also to
make them aware of the debts paid in their name by soldiers of the
past, present, and future."
Recorded in Nashville and Muscle Shoals, America Will Always Stand
is the first step in a journey through music. Maxwell, Curtis, Pyle
and their colleagues are already at work on a follow-up album for
Time-Life Music, on which another all-star selection of artists will
perform songs with a more narrative focus on real-life heroes of the
Civil War and the lessons conveyed by their lives. Further projects,
including original dramas for television based on this material, are
being explored as well.

DENVER, CO (PRWEB) February 28,
2004 -– ProLine, a longtime producer of Accessories & Media
Packaging for the Home Entertainment and Computer Environment has
announced a new development for an invisible disc coating that makes
the data side of all disc formats more scratch resistant.
The formulation, named Disc Guard 2, is a liquid compound of special
emulsifiable resins that simply buffs on and off the disc. The
oxygen-activated molecules left on the disc surface produces a clear
layer that allows the laser-read data to be enhanced for correct
reproduction while forming a shield of protection over a short
period of time without restricting immediate disc use. A hard
protective glass-like coating guards against accidental scratching
and fingerprints during disc handling. Application of the formula
requires two small drops costing just pennies per disc while
repeated use increases the durability of the disc.
Should a disc be subjected to unusual handling, the coating
previously applied takes most of the abuse while preserving the data
content embedded in the disc. Disc damage of this nature can be
removed from the hard coating and a new application can be reapplied
for continued protection prolonging the life of the disc.
Disc Guard 2 is a versatile, effective solution for use on all disc
formats, including, DVDs, Game Discs, Music Discs, Software Titles,
Photo CDs, Recordable Discs, CD or DVD Roms as well as similar
media.
When an unprotected disc becomes scratched, still framing is
experienced with video images while audio signals will produce a
skipping or fast repeating sound because the scratch on the disc
surface is deflecting the laser pickup from reading the disc data.
These error-producing types of scratches must be removed from the
original top lacquer coating to make the disc usable again. Very
deep scratches will tend to make discs irreparable and the data
irretrievable forever. There have been misconceptions with deep
scratches being identified as Disc Rot as if mold was eating away
the disc which is nothing more than unqualified understandings of
laser deflection.
Many offerings of disc scratch removers are available on the market
with some requiring rubbing out scratches while others are using an
abrasive micro sanding material that actually removes the lacquer
coating. When this type of sanding mechanism is used the disc
becomes more vulnerable to future scratches. Disc Guard 2 will add
back a resilient disc data protection to the disc surface.
ProLine’s Disc Guard 2 is now available in a complete kit that
includes a disc-gripping applicator base, two soft application and
buffing cloths along with a 2 fluid ounce bottle of the formula for
conditioning over 200 discs at a suggested retail price of $16.95.
An 8 fluid ounce bottle that provides protection for over 800 discs
is also available for large disc collections and the disc rental
market with a suggested retail price of $39.95.

Scot Whittington, of Destin, FL, was driving to work one morning and
heard "Will you marry me" on his local radio station. He then called
John’s fan club and told them his plans for proposing to his
girlfriend, Jennifer Hall of Crestview, FL. I Give My Heart had yet
to be released, but the fan club agreed to ship an advance of the CD
that day.
Shortly after receiving the CD, Jennifer and her kids from a
previous marriage met Scot at a restaurant in Destin. On the drive
home, Scot asked Jennifer’s older daughter, Chassidy, for her
blessing. She helped him decorate the house with candles before
Jennifer and her son Hunter got home. Once they got home he gave
Chassidy a teddy bear, Hunter a toy four-wheeler, and Jennifer 100
red roses. He then played the John Berry CD and gave Jennifer a new
pair of shoes. He told her that just like the shoes, he will also
walk with her through good times and bad, tough times and sad. Just
as he finished putting the new shoes on her feet, "Will You Marry
Me" began playing. While still on his knees from putting her shoes
on, he reached under the couch, got the ring, and asked her to marry
him. She said "yes", and they are planning on having a wedding on
the beach in Destin the first weekend of May. I Give My Heart will
be played at the wedding.
North
America's largest summertime balloon festival will not consider
adding Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake to their 2004 festival
lineup.
(PRWEB) February 11, 2004--The controversial Super Bowl halftime
music duet of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson will not appear on
the 2004 Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning concert stage
this July, organizers announced today.
The 21 year-old hot air balloon and music event, the largest
summertime festival of its kind in North America, has staged major
concerts featuring The Beach Boys, The Band, America, Hall and Oates
and K.C. and the Sunshine Band at its Central New Jersey
extravaganza over the years.
As part of its long-standing emphasis on family-oriented
entertainment, consideration will not be given to Jackson and
Timberlake as the festival lineup of three late July concerts takes
shape.
“We will deliver on our promise of terrific, but wholesome,
entertainment,” said Howard Freeman, executive producer of the
festival, with a twinkle in his eye. “We’ve been fortunate to sign
musical acts that appeal to young and old alike through the years.”
“The closest we’ve ever come to off-color happened in 2000, when
Mike Love pulled a soccer mom onto the stage during ‘Help Me,
Rhonda’ and gave her a kiss on the cheek before helping her down,”
he continued.
“Festival-goers from all over the east have rewarded us with return
visits and word-of-mouth endorsements that have allowed the festival
to grow into a New Jersey institution,” Freeman concluded.
Among the artists who are under consideration for this year’s
festival are Kenny Loggins, Peter Frampton, Hilary Duff and Three

Movie and record producers alike are saying file-sharing networks that
permit its users the ability to make copies from other network member’s
computers are infringing on the copyright laws and costing billions of
dollars in lost revenue.
The recording industry claims to have lost 25% of it’s revenues since
computer, so called thieves, have been using peer-to-peer file-sharing
networks to obtain free music downloads.
The two latest file-sharing companies to be targeted by these copyright
lawsuits are Grokster Ltd, known for its Grokster file-sharing software
and StreamCast Networks Inc. from which the Morpheus free music
downloading software is distributed.
Unlike Napster, Grokster and Morpheus put a spin on the popular
file-sharing phenomenon. Instead of indexing the shared files like
Napster did, these file-sharing products enables it’s network members to
build their own indexes – thus allowing others within the network to
download free music and movie files.
While some musicians are protesting they are being cheated by these
illegal free music downloads – others are speaking out backing how
music, movies, pictures and copy are being shared over the Internet.
Some music lovers actually use the file-sharing networks to check out an
artists latest release before paying up to $18 for a CD that may only
have one good song on it. You still will have those that will never make
a purchase and continue to take advantage of the free music download
networks.
Many file-sharing network users have said that using these networks is
good for the music industry. File-sharing can bring listeners to
smaller, independent bands that they may not otherwise hear on radio or
in the mainstream.
With the likes of Apple’s iTunes store many have turned their backs on
file-sharing networks paying 99 cents per song – Apple claims to sell
more than 1 millions songs everyday. Although iTunes is limited still,
thus giving file sharing networks a void to fill the unlimited access to
music and movies that may otherwise not be able from iTunes.
In late 2003 record companies started suing individuals that were
downloading free music. With file-sharing networks like Grokster and
Morpheus it will be much harder for the recording industry to track down
files that are uploaded by individual users.
With the Supreme Court now involved they are expected to make some type
of ruling in June 2005 on what if any action should be taken against the
makers of file-sharing network software.
The wrong decision could discourage the future development of products
like the iPod or other file-sharing software programs that could be used
for legal purposes.
Since Grokster and Morpheus do not monitor or have any knowledge of who
or what is being downloaded, a federal judge in Los Angeles and the U.S.
9th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the copyright infringement charges
against both these file-sharing networks.
Based on the 1984 ruling of the Supreme Court that stated the use of
Sony Betamax, which allowed users to make copies at home of copyrighted
TV programs, was legal.
The recording industries angle last week was that the approach companies
like Grokster and Morpheus are making by advertising their software will
provide access to free copies of copyrighted materials should allow them
to be sued and shut down.
While the jury may be out on this one for sometime – file sharing
networks and free music downloads will continue with most users not
really worrying about getting sued, since most do not download free
music in excess of a few files per month.
